This installation combined several aspects of design in a way that enhanced the experience of the music. I used four outputs (in each corner of the room). Each speaker had a laser attached and pointed at a position on the ceiling or wall. The lasers were set to interact to the speaker via a small microphone on the back. I then tuned each speaker to represent a different frequency range in the song allowing the lasers to interact differently to the same song. The playlist was layered on top of 5 distinct soundscapes: Beach waves, night crickets, thunderstorm, morning birds, and cityscape. The name "Electric Hell" comes from a comment made by someone who felt so overwhelmed by the stimulus of the room they felt like it was in inescapable "Electric Hell".
